Blizzard announced the first Battle Pass for Overwatch 2 with the new support hero, Kiriko. It will be accessible to all players for free, with over 20 free rewards across 80 tiers. The reveal appeared on the game's official website.
Players will get Sojourne and Junker Queen automatically. Kiriko can be obtained at tier 55. Those, who have the original Overwatch, don't need to grind. They will receive the Founder’s Pack with this heroine for free.
Premium Battle Pass costs $10 (1000 Overwatch coins) and has a new Mythic tier of skins, starting with Cyber Demon Genji for Kiriko. Any future heroes will be accessible to premium users upon release. There will be an additional premium upgrade for $22 in total.
Original Overwatch will shut down servers on October 2, two days before the OW2 launch. Blizzard revealed their roadmap for future updates. They will switch to the seasonal model with updates every nine weeks. This way, Season 2 with a new tank hero will arrive on December 6, and the next season in early February.
The first season "will be delivering more in one drop than we've delivered since the original game launched in 2016." In addition to mentioned heroes, it will have over 30 skins, a new game mode, and six maps. One of them, Portugal-based Esperanca, was never revealed before.
