Blizzard reveals when Loot Boxes sales end

Activision Blizzard is saying goodbye to Loot Boxes in Overwatch. The sales will stop on August 30. The already acquired ones will automatically open upon the first login on September 14, with items transferred to the owners' accounts. The official announcement appeared on Blizzard's Twitter.

Players can still receive the standard loot boxes and receive items. The Loot Boxes earned after September 14 will not be auto-opened until the launch of Overwatch 2. At that point, every remaining Loot Box will open upon visiting the Hero Galery.

Overwatch 2 will come out on October 4 for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. The game will be free-to-play in early access and include only the reworked PvP part. The promised PvE will arrive somewhere in 2023.
