T1 replace Polt with Bengi before Worlds 2022. Earlier fans demanded change of coach, and even rented truck to send message

T1 made changes to their coaching staff ahead of Worlds 2022. Choi "Polt" Seong-hun has transitioned to the General Manager position. Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong became the head coach. The official statement was delivered by CEO Joe Marsh.

Bengi is a three-time Worlds champion who took the title in 2013, 2015, and 2016, playing alongside Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok during these years. This promotion will be his debut as the main team coach.

Polt stepped onto the coaching role in November 2020 and helped the squad to make a perfect 18-0 run in LCK 2022 Spring. Their historical undefeated run was interrupted by G2 Esports at MSI 2022. After that, T1 started struggling with results and lost to Gen.G in the summer split.

This news should sound exciting for at least a chunk of T1's fanbase. Lately, they've been attacking the club's management, blaming the coach for failures. After they hired a truck with a demanding message on board, T1 restricted access to their facilities. Meanwhile, Faker's lawyers started a lawsuit against fans harassing the superstar online.
