Gen.G destroy T1 in LCK 2022 Summer final, grab their first title


Gen.G earned a flawless victory over T1 in the grand final of LCK 2022 Summer playoffs. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok and his team couldn't take a single map off their opponents and lost the series 0:3.

Gen.G and every player on the lineup won their first LCK title in history, the only exception being Han "Peanut" Wang-ho. The jungler was named the MVP of the final bo5.

Gen.G had an almost perfect run in the regular season, T1 was the only opponent able to beat them throughout the split. In the playoffs, they gave away only one map, to LSB. Gen.G will have the first seed at Worlds 2022, and T1 will get the second.

LCK Summer Playoffs were running from August 17 to 28. Six teams were fighting for the title, a 375 mln KRW (~$281,000), and World Championship 2022 seeding. The four remaining teams will fight for two slots at Worlds during the following Regional Finals, set for 1-3 September.
