Riot Games revealed the dates and seeding for the League of Legends 2022 World Championship. The tournament will start on September 29 in Mexico City with the grand final on November 5 in San Francisco.
This year, Europe will get an extra slot because of the LCL cancellation. This way EU's 3rd and 4th best teams will start in the Play-in stage. The decision was made based on the region's international achievements over the past two years.
Play-In (12 teams)
Group Stage (12 teams)
LCL 2022 was canceled in March 2022 during the spring split due to military actions in the region. Following this decision, the Summer split never took place and was officially canceled in sync with this Worlds announcement.
New information brings additional intrigue to LEC 2022 Summer, which is currently right in the middle of the split. ROGUE tops the charts, followed by MAD lions, EXCEL, Fnatic, and Vitality.
