New mockumentary about League of Legends got to Metacritic's top-20 for first half of 2022

TV Show "Players" based on League of Legends appeared on the top-20 list on Metacritic. Based on the website's score, it shares 16-18th place among the best new TV Shows for the first half of 2022.

The first season of Players got 80 out of 100 from the critics with 10 professional reviews. Some critics labeled it as "The Last Dance" of esports. The user score is below that number, aggravating only 6.4 out of 10. Although, it has even fewer reviews — just five at the moment of publication.

The series from authors of American Vandal tells the story of Team Fugitive, a fictional League of Legends squad "led by the cranky veteran Creamcheese, who clashes with the team's newest recruit, 17-year-old Organizm." The description states that it can be enjoyable for non-endemic viewers in a way good sports dramas do. The show is available on Paramount+.
