Gilius explained how professional LoL players calculate their expected salaries

League of Legends veteran Erberk "Gilius" Demir discussed how players evaluate their salary when everyone is under NDA. Sometimes they look upon other professionals or guess it dealing with multiple contract suggestions. He explained these things for Side Select podcast.

When you talk to teammates, you're not allowed to say your salary. But you pick up this information here and there. For example when one teammate likes to earn more than the others. Sometimes you just know who makes the most money or should get the most. If I look at the players like PerkZ or Alphari, I'm pretty sure they make good money, you know.

I used to be in situations where I could choose between many teams. And I guess that my salary would be higher. As an example, when I played good years in Schalke 04 and my contract would run out. I always signed one-year deals in Schalke because we never knew when it’s gonna get sold. It was a ticking time bomb.

Gilius expressed that money isn't the most important thing. He cares about having good teammates and his career prosperity. That seems to be more important for the veteran.

Yeah. I have a good idea where I am [in terms of sarary]. But I am actually really humble when it comes to salaries. I’m not a player that would deny a good offer when I see teammates that I really want to play with. The players need to be good, I want to try with them, and then we talk about salary. And I'd never join a bad team for a really good salary. I don’t work like that. I’m not going to get last place and ruin my career.
