Today, Hanwha Life Esports announced the signing of former Flash Wolves jungler Kim “Moojin” Moo-Jin. Just last week, Flash Wolves announced Moojin’s free agency this offseason. Moojin won two LoL Masters Series titles with Flash Wolves this year. He also attended the Mid-Season Invitational and World Championship this year.
As one of the best junglers in the LMS last year, this comes as a stark upgrade for Moojin. Hanwha Life Esports might not have attended the World Championship, but promise a monolingual team environment for the Korean jungler. Moving forward, Moojin will bring a passive stroke to a team that was known as being extremely aggressive in the early game. Fans should expect more offseason moves from Hanwha in the coming weeks.
In Spring and Summer, Hanwha was always on the verge of being a true contender, but always fell flat. Talent and experience largely weren’t an issue, but consistency and mid-game shotcalling definitely was. Moojin might not be a direct upgrade for Hanwha, but given his time on Flash Wolves, should bring valuable winning experience.
Hanwha had this to say about Moojin’s addition the team:
“Moojin Kim is considered the best jungler in the Taiwan League(LMS), and Gun-Woong coach is a multi-experienced strategist,” said Hanwha on their facebook page. “We will prepare thoroughly for the next season with them. Please give us warm encouragement, which is doing our best for good performances.”
In addition to Moojin, Hanwha also announced contract terminations with both Heo “Lindarang” Man-Heung and Yoon “Seonghwan” Seong-Hwan. Coach Kim Jin-Hyuk and substitute top laner Lee “Brook” Jang-Hoon will also be leaving the team. Hanwha is just one of many teams to announce its free agents today, as Afreeca, Jin Air, and Kingzone have all disclosed their recent contract terminations.
