Jin Air parts ways with Teddy, kaKAO, and SoHwan

Today, Jin Air added to the LCK offseason turmoil with the announcement of several major contract terminations. Kim “SoHwan” Jun-Yeong, Park “Teddy” Jin-Sung, and Lee “kaKAO” Byung-Kwon all elected to leave Jin Air and explore free agency. In addition, sub jungler Yoon “Justice” Seok-Jun and coach Kim Sang-Cheol, have also terminated their contracts.

Following this announcement, Jin Air AD carry Teddy remains one of league’s hottest commodities. It is rumored that SK Telecom T1 has already been in contact with the prodigious AD carry, following Bae “Bang” Jun-Sik’s departure. SoHwan has also steadily improved in the top lane, but remained a carry-focused player that didn’t quite deliver on tanks. Meanwhile, kaKAO has seen better days, struggling to re-integrate into LoL Champions Korea.

Jin Air often struggles to be a playoff contender in Korea and losing some of its best talent doesn’t bode well for the organization. However, given the team’s financial backing and general prestige, it is likely that Jin Air will remain afloat and develop some meaningful talent. Jin Air might struggle to be the best, but that has not stopped the organization from producing gems like Teddy in the past.

As previously mentioned, Teddy is very favorable pickup for most teams this offseason, whether they hail from China’s LoL Pro League or North America’s LoL Championship series. SoHwan and kaKAO weren’t at the top of their class, but should find homes either in the LCK, Challengers Korea, or even abroad.
