Aurora Gaming support Miroslav "Mira" Kolpakov revealed what happened during the tech pause in the game against Parivision at PGL Wallachia Season 4. The admins didn't offer the team a satisfying solution, so they decided to abandon the match.
1. We are playing with a critical bug that increases the additional cost of a buyback from 20% to 40%.
2. A situation takes place when we all use buybacks, but Nightfall simply cannot use it. We take a pause.
3. The admins say: "Valve admitted that this is a game bug and it will be fixed."
4. Their solution is to continue playing as it is.
5. We suggest reloading the game 20 seconds before the fight with knowledge of the bug. In this case, we will not let Doom farm the creeps and die. Another option is full game remake.
6. Their [Admin's] solution: ask Parivision to hold back for 90 seconds while Doom is dead. Magnus and Warlock have already used buybacks. They [opponents] will simply return in 90 seconds and pick off a hero without buyback.
7. Playing with the bug and the admins' decision that doesn't favor us puts us in the most disadvantageous position, so we do not agree with this.
The bug happened in the third game of the Bo3 in the upper bracket semifinal. Nightfall couldn't buyback because the Devil's Bargain facet was bugged, adding 40% instead of a 20% cost increase. More importantly, the in-game information displayed that he had enough gold. Valve fixed the glitch while the game was still running, but this didn't affect the ongoing match. After an almost 1.5-hour-long pause, Aurora left the server.
PGL Wallachia S4 runs in Bucharest from April 19 to 27. The participants are competing for a share of a million dollars. Aurora dropped to the lower bracket and will next face Tundra. Parivision will clash with Liquid in the winners' final.
