Former Gaimin Gladiators player Anton "dyrachyo" Shkredov reviewed the last year and the issues the team faced before The International 2024. In the KD ALL IN podcast, he said the teammates criticized each other a lot, and it didn't feel right. Dyrachyo admitted that "even he" was emotionally exhausted by the end of the season after the TI loss.
Everything went wrong at bootcamp before TI13. Starting from the location of the tournament to our residence, and so on. Everything was awful. We had a proper bootcamp in Manchester. And when we arrived near Copenhagen, everything was f**ked up. Someone didn't like food. We played and didn't hear each other. Constant arguing.
One guy can't find his game, and you try to fix that. Then another guy has the same issue, and we start playing fast-paced. It doesn't work and we lose 10 games in a row because of that. I can't even explain. Everything gets out of hand. At some point, things seemingly go fine. But the next day, it isn't, and you fix it all again. It's like Groundhog Day. This bootcamp had a suffocating atmosphere.
Dyrachyo thinks their disagreements and insecurities became a deciding factor during the grand final against Team Liquid.
Everyone was depressed. Even I was depressed. After two years... If we compare the first and the second, the emotions were so tough. You were one step away from the victory at the main event. Despite the prize pool being smaller than Riyadh's, we wanted to win for the status [of TI]. I guess we wanted to win and it blurred something. All those factors from last year affected the grand final. Insecurity, my uncertainty about someone else. Some disagreements. [Was it about Quinn?] Well, no. I didn't like what Seleri tried to do sometimes. We wanted to try some heroes [with him], but it didn't work. I didn't like that someone didn't play... Quinn did some things... Didn't like that I fed. Everyone had his issues. Someone didn't like tOfu. Like I said, it's like we all had issues with each other. We tried to work it out, if I'm not mistaken, and we didn't manage.
Dyrachyo played for Gaimin Gladiators for over 2.5 years. Together with him, the team became the champion of three Majors, Riyadh Masters 2024, and finished second at two The Internationals. After TI13, the carry took a three-month break and joined Tundra. The squad won their first LAN, FISSURE Playground — Dota. Dyrachyo previously expressed similar thoughts about his departure in an interview, which you can read below.
