Team Spirit carry Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk commented on his break after The International 2024. He said he wanted to feel less competitive pressure, other aspects of professional Dota 2 play didn't bother him. The carry shared this at FISSURE Playground 1 — Dota.
I didn't take a break from Dota 2 and the environment, it was more from the competitive side of things. Because we had too many tournaments, too many failures and losses. I was considering a break even before TI13. And when we lost at The International 2024, it broke me completely. And I realized I need to have a rest. Initially, I wanted to leave for a year, but then, I changed my mind, so to say.
Yatoro also explained how he felt watching Team Spirit's matches from a side. He said it was interesting experience that exposed some issues and details for him.
It's quite funny to watch. You understand why certain in-game moments happen, what's going on inside the team, and why some mistakes are happening. I can say it was interesting in general. You can spot more details, and you also see more issues with drafts or misplays. When you're in the game, you're not focused on builds of your opponents or teammates. You're analyzing that only after a game. But when you watch the whole game, for example I remember we watched BB Dacha, it was interesting to see live. How the teams play, how they move, it's a different experience.
Yatoro took a break after The International 2024. He spend most of his time streaming and grinding Dota 2. The carry came back after New Year and replaced Satanic, who moved to Parivision. The two already played each other at FISSURE Playground. Team Spirit won the series 2:1, and knocked out the opponents to the lower bracket.
