TOfu: "Watson won't flame or raise his voice on others, which is nice"

Gaimin Gladiators support Eric "tOfu" Engel commented on the replacement of Anton "dyrachyo" Shkredov with Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov. He compared fitting in a new player with a puzzle. TOfu spoke about it in the interview with FISSURE at the Belgrade tournament.

Playing to everyone's strengths is when everyone has a part. And now, you remove one puzzle piece. It had certain shape. Now we put another piece and try to fit it in. And the other pieces try to move a bit and change form to make space for something new. <...> There are some regrets sometimes but it was needed. There was a lot going on.

TOfu characterized watson as a nice person and teammate. Which he sees as both positive and negative, as the Kazakhstani lacks the confidence they expect from a carry.

He's a very humble nice guy. Very positive. After we lose officials, he always like, "It's okay, we learn. It's fine, let's go next". He's honest with that, he won't flame or raise his voice on others, which is nice. Obviously, everything has good and bad sides. Sometimes, you need to tell people what's wrong, and such a discussion can get loud. But he still needs to work on his ego and confidence in a way. Because that's something carry players usually bring [to a team].

FISSURE Playground 1 — Dota runs from January 24 to February 2 in Belgrade, Serbia. Gaimin Gladiators didn't make it out of the Swiss stage and finished with a match record of 2-3. They were knocked out by Tundra with dyrachyo.

At the same time, a new drama arose surrounding the carry and his former team. GG's co-founder accused their former carry of unprofessional behavior, which caused many heated replies. You can read more about it below.
