A reformed Na`Vi roster looks really impressive, at least at the regional level – they managed to qualify to PGL Open Bucharest, just after they made it to the main stage of StarLadder i-League Season 3. In the Grand Finals of the closed regional qualifiers they defeated Team Empire with the 2-1 score.
The playoffs featured four best teams from the group stage – Virtus.pro, Team Empire, Natus Vincere and Vega Squadron. Virtus.pro were considered to be the strongest team in the region – they placed 5-6 at The International 2017 and were one of the favorites at the tournament. They kept their roster, aiming to win The International 2018, but the new competitive season started rough for the “bears” – they missed qualifiers for SL i-League Invitational and lost in the first round of playoffs of PGL Open qualifiers to Team Empire with the score of 0-2.
Another team that kept their roster was Vega Squadron. Despite the fact that the team failed to qualify for The International 2017, the organization decided to not make any roster changes. But the results in the new season are terrible – the team barely wins and has some internal issues which resulted in Silent being replaced by Zayac from MVP Revolution. They made it to the playoffs from the second place, but lost in the first series to Na`Vi 0-2.
In the Grand Finals Na`Vi faced Team Empire – a rematch of the finals of the CIS qualifiers for SL i-League Invitational S3. All 3 games were played, with third of them being over 1.5h long. Despite playing the whole day in various qualifiers, Na`Vi still managed to win the tough series with the 2-1 score, qualifying for the second minor in a row.
