BetBoom Team manager Luka "Lukawa" Nasuashvili reported there was no meeting with Valve before The International 2024. This was part of the preparation process pretty much every year. This fits the rumors about the company giving more role in the event's organization to PGL.
By the way, there was no annual meeting with Valve. Typically, the devs announced groups and said roughly the same things which were in the welcome letter this year. And I still haven't seen Valve's representatives at the hotel. Maybe they will be there later, of course, or we haven't crossed paths yet. All these signs turn into a very sad story...
The annual meeting has been held almost every TI. Usually, Valve shares plans for the future and gathers feedback during these meetings. In 2023, they explained how the circuit would work without DPC and Majors. Additionally, Team Spirit and other participants visited Valve's office in Seattle.
The International 2024 will be held from September 4 to 15 in Copenhagen. Participants will compete for at least $2.3 million. Earlier Dota 2 caster Austin "Capitalist" Walsh reported that Valve wouldn't host TI13, which would be "entirely in control of PGL."
