FISSURE on tiebreakers between GG and Falcons: "Both Quinn and Malr1ne refused to play to avoid getting Spirit in playoffs"

BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai organizer FISSURE released a statement on few issues on tiebreakers for playoffs. They explained why one of the matches was decided with a coin-toss, and the reason why certain rules weren't followed.

1. During the match between players of LGD Gaming and Falcons the admin on the scene made a mistake by not stopping the match on 15 minute mark. There will be consequences for it.

2. During the match between players of Gaimin Gladiators and Falcons both mid players refused to play, to not start playoffs with a match against Team Spirit. The outcome was decided by a coin-toss.

3. During the match between LGD and Team Liquid one player refused to participate, while another was ready. So the outcome was not decided by the coin-toss — first team got the win instead.

In the end, Quinn won the coin-toss, and that means Gaimin Gladiators will start the playoffs with a match against Team Spirit after all. In the matchup between TL and LGD, Nisha was the forfeiting player, giving Setsu the win. Because of it, Team Liquid will play against Azure Ray, while LGD will meet BetBoom Team.

Tiebreakers were used to decide the first matchups of playoffs. Since all ties in group A were not over position of significance and only over seeding, and involved four teams with equal head-to-head and Sonneborn–Berger score, 1v1 Shadow Fiend duel was used as a way to break the ties.
