Mad Kings player Genek accused of watching stream at TI12 qualification, same thing Pure was banned for at Bali Major

Mad Kings Esports player Moises "Genek" Asencios Santillan was spotted supposedly watching a Twitch stream during the regional qualifier for The International 2023 in South America. Redditor SaC-SeBaS found potential evidence on the live broadcast.

On Jeanpierre "PiPi" Valente Arroyo's camera view during the draft phase against Lava, his teammate Genek is watching something that looks like a Twitch interface. According to fans' witnesses, Genek also reportedly alt-tabbed multiple times during the game.

Mad Kings have won the bo3 and are about to play their next opponent, Infinity, the match kicks off on August 25, 16:00 CEST. PGL has yet to comment on the situation.

The rules section was added to target these issues at TI12 qualifiers. It strictly forbids "watching broadcasts of their games" and says violators will be punished. The severity of the punishment is up to PGL.

Previously, BetBoom's Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko was banned at Bali Major 2023 for alt-tabbing into a 3rd-party stream of his game during a technical pause. The team was issued a match forfeit and forced to play with a stand-in in the next match. They lost that series and left the event at the beginning of the playoffs.
