Evil Geniuses releases Dota 2 roster with Arteezy and BuLba

Evil Geniuses announced that the organization released its Dota 2 roster, including Artour "Arteezy" Babaev and Kanishka 'Sam' "BuLba" Sosale. EG CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson shared the news on team's social media.

These news fit the rumors of EG picking up a South American roster with three players from Thunder Awaken and two from beastcoast. Earlier all players involved in these rumors were released from their teams.

The team release happened after a very unsuccessful year for EG. The team couldn't get a single top-8 finish in big tournaments in 2022, including a 9-12th place at The International 2022. And that's already after a failed run at The International 2021, where the team also finished 9-12th.

This is the third time Arteezy left Evil Geniuses, this time after a long period of 6 years. In 2015 and 2016 he twice joined Team Secret, but quickly came back to EG. It's unlikely that this scenario will repeat this time. Andreas "Cr1t" Nielsen and BuLba are other team veterans, working with the team since 2016 and 2017 respectively.
