The Open Qualifiers for the Chongqing Major 2019 kicked off today and there’s one surprising team who have registered in the North American region, featuring the likes of Jacky ‘EternalEnvy’ Mao and a few other extremely well-known names.
After news that EternalEnvy and Jingjun ‘Sneyking’ Wu were let go from the compLexity Gaming lineup came out earlier today, the 2 have wasted no time in signing up a team to take part in the North American Open Qualifiers for the Chongqing Major. The 2 players are joined by Jaron ‘monkey-forever’ Clinton, the offlaner for ROOONS, as well as one unknown player – but the final member of their team is a proud ex-TI victor, Clinton ‘Fear’ Loomis.
Since leaving Evil Geniuses earlier this year, Fear has had a few brief forays with different teams, attempting to make his way into the Majors and The International 2018 too – all met with failure unfortunately. He played through the South American region for TI8 Qualifiers before standing-in with coL for the Kuala Lumpur Major Qualifiers. Now the player returns to the Dota 2 scene, once again in the NA region as he joins forces with EE in an attempt to make it to China for the next Major.
The team has named themselves ‘Team Doggies’ and will be set begin their battle for a chance to make it into the Closed Qualifiers later today. The Open Qualifiers run from today until November 18th 2018 and we will be watching closely to see if this squad can make it through. More details on The Chongqing Major can be found below.
