The first day of the Main Event at The Kuala Lumpur Major seemed to fly by and after the Upper Bracket ended, it was time to wave goodbye to some teams in the Lower Bracket. The two best-of-one match-ups were; TNC Predator versus paiN Gaming and Tigers versus paiN X – the losers of each will be waving goodbye to the Major.
paiN and TNC’s match was over in just 23 minutes with one team playing some ridiculously quick paced Dota 2. With a Huskar for Armel ‘Armel’ Paul Tabios and 3 of the 5 players on TNC not dying throughout the game, paiN was left in the dark as they only managed a total of 4 kills. TNC ran rings around their opponents and with the GG coming out on, paiN Gaming would find themselves the first team eliminated from the KL Major – while TNC Predator go on to face Alliance in the next round of the lower bracket.
Next up was paN X taking on the Minor Champions, Tigers. Following in the path of all the games today, this one was over in just over half an hour and it seemed as though Tigers would be the favourites to move on in the Major. But with great play from Quinn ‘CCnC’ Callahan on a Venomancer, the unlikely underdogs would rip through Tigers and eliminate them from the Major. paiN X move into the next round of the lower bracket where they take on Vici Gaming.
The action for today at The Kuala Lumpur Major is now over after a blisteringly fast day of Dota 2 which saw 2 teams moving through in the upper bracket and 2 teams leaving the event – tomorrow is more of the same as teams continue to battle for the title at the first Major of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit.
