Valve have officially revealed the expiration date of the second season in CS2. It is significantly shorter than the first one, so players need to hurry up if they haven't played this year but still want the medal.
According to the official post, Season 2 of Premier mode ends on July 14, 2025. To receive your medal, you must have 25 victories in the ranked matchmaking. You can see your game history and the number of remaining wins in the Premier tab in the game. The quality of the medal will depend on the best Elo rating you've scored during the season, even if your current numbers are lower.
It turns out the second season lasts less than six months. The first season ran from the game's release in September 2023 up to the end of January 2025. Which is why many players didn't expect the second period to be that short. Valve didn't explain why they changed the system.
Most likely, the first season was treated as an experimental time by the developers. Since the second was held for half a year, we should expect the same pattern in future.
Assuming that the formula remains the same, your Elo ranking will be recalibrated. You will need to win 10 matches to receive a new score. Last seasonal change featured a 24-hour shutdown of Premier mode, weapon balance adjustments, and Train replacing Vertigo. It's unclear if Valve will implement a map pool change this time.
