Jame on why they didn't stack with electronic: "He was part of another star duo in the past, with s1mple"

Parivision CS2 player Dzhami "Jame" Ali spoke about his time with Denis "electronic" Sharipov in Virtus.pro. He believes they didn't find chemistry since he couldn't be compared to Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev. In an interview with Taverna.gg, Jame admitted that he didn't see himself as a star AWPer.

[Why didn't you become a star duo with electronic?] He was part of another star duo — with s1mple, and that was his prime form. Second, I'm not on a star level, individually. A captain is not a star, I'd compare myself more to Draymond Green (NBA player) during my time in VP. Everything for the team. I put some effort into staying in shape, but I never focused on myself. I changed that in Parivision a bit. I try to focus on my own game, but still, seven years of IGL career affect that. This will be less impactful with time if I continue to play this role [pure AWPer].

Later in the interview, Jame repeated that he never considered himself a star. At the same time, he likes to be seen as a role model CS player.

As I see it, you can't walk outside when you're a star — they'll recognize you. You live a life that's different from an average person. You can only afford luxury things, talk to other popular people, and so on. I don't have any of it. I live a normal life. I can walk outside. In general, I live a less fulfilling life than the average person. I sit in my room 24/7, don't see sunlight, and when I walk out, I think, "Wow, that's life."

[Do you see yourself as an example for future pros?] Humbleness aside, yes. I generally don't do wrong. I don't spread weird stuff. You should work, practice, and develop everything. I never engaged in some super mega conflicts. I always try to prove my worth through my actions. Also, I don't have the easiest career: a lot of overcoming myself, public opinion, and so on.

Maybe people see me differently, maybe they see some freak that pushes his weird type of play, saves. Generally, I don't have a goal to be a role model.

Jame is a two-time Major finalist, winner of several events, and the champion of IEM Rio Major 2022. As a fragging IGL, he was undoubtedly a star player, topped only by prime FalleN stats-wise. His average career LAN rating is 1.12, despite many slumps and defeats. Few other AWPing captains can be compared to him, primarily nitr0 and cadiaN, but they never posted such numbers even in peak times.
