M0NESY reveals he had other offers: "I didn't have much faith in other teams"

CS2 AWPer Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov revealed he had other offers aside from Falcons while being in G2. He didn't name the teams but said he didn't believe in their abilities to perform in the long run. The player shared this in an interview with Banks and Devilwalk, released on YouTube.

Did I have other choices? Yeah, I had, but I can't say. But when you look at other teams, there was only one I wanted to go to, and it was Falcons. Just because I didn't have much faith in other teams. I wanted to play with NiKo always, and I believed we could lift a lot of trophies together, and finally win a Major for him.

According to neL, who was first to report m0NESY's transfer to Falcons this time, the organization wanted to acquire him together with NiKo at the end of 2024. The deal was abandoned, as G2 were unwilling to release their young star despite offers reportedly reaching $3 mln. Their CEO openly stated that they won't let him go away easily. The organization tried to create the conditions where he would "become the leader of the roster in his own right."

In the same interview, m0NESY went over his desicion to leave G2 Esports. The player claimed he wasn't 100% sure he would follow NiKo initially. However, when they started restructuring their game, he felt they lost a key component. You can read more about it below.
