Star CS2 player Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov has transitioned from G2 Esports to Team Falcons. The AWPer took the place of Abdul "degster" Gasanov. The official announcement was released on social media. G2 made a farewell video recapping Ilya's path with their squad.
M0NESY's buyout is rumored to be the biggest in history of CS2. It was first reported by Guillaume "neL" Rathier. The French insider didn't reveal the numbers but said, "It appears to be a multi-million dollar deal and the biggest transfer in Counter-Strike history." Later, Russian insider Aleksey "OverDrive" Biryukov reported that Falcons bought the sniper for $2-$2.5 mln.
M0NESY reunited with his former teammate Nikola "NiKo" Kovac. The duo became friends in G2 and won several trophies together. He was reportedly the key reason for the young AWPer's departure. Their debut tournament in Falcons will be IEM Melbourne 2025. The event is scheduled to start on April 21.
Degster was moved to the bench. The AWPer has been playing for Falcons since January 2025. Right before this, he won PGL Bucharest 2025, beating in the grand final none other than m0NESY and his lineup.
