Team Falcons sniper Abdul "degster" Gasanov shared his emotions from the PGL Bucharest 2025 grand final. He admitted that he tried but couldn't completely ignore that Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov was going to take his spot on Falcons. He shared this in an interview with HLTV.
We're all humans, yes? Sometimes these types of thoughts get into your head. I know that even in my region, there are a lot of people who like m0NESY, and I can understand and respect that.
There were some thoughts, yeah. Like, "This is the guy that's replacing me," and stuff like this. But in the end, I was just trying to focus on the game because I do believe, at least for myself... When I saw that we're playing G2 in the grand final, I didn't want to think, "Is that the first trophy that I'm going to get?" Or "I'm playing against m0NESY now, he's one of the best players in the world."
Team Falcons defeated G2 Esports in the final of PGL Bucharest 2025. The match ended with a score of 3:0, and all three maps were quite one-sided. Degster was named the MVP of the tournament and lifted his very first LAN trophy. The AWPer started the event with several weak maps in terms of stats, but managed to come back and deliver in crucial matches.
M0NESY has already left G2. He has played for the team since 2022. As reported earlier, he will join Falcons and take over the AWPer role in the following days. It's unclear what's next for degster. His wife wished him to find a team that would understand him.
