Falcons stomp G2 to win PGL Bucharest 2025, degster earns first career MVP

Falcons took down G2 Esports in the grand final of PGL Bucharest 2025. The bo5 series ended in three one-sided maps — Mirage (13:5), Nuke (13:7), and Ancient (13:8).

Abdul "degster" Gasanov and Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski won the first international LAN trophies in their careers. The Russian AWPer also got his first MVP award for his performance at this event. He finished it with only a 1.12 HLTV rating, but his score in the playoffs was 1.21.

There was a lot of hype before the series due to the rumors about m0NESY's future transition to Falcons. The AWPer himself called this grand final "scripted." Heroic joked that the winner of the match will get m0NESY as a prize. Right after the tournament, G2's CEO confirmed his departure.

PGL Bucharest 2025 took place in Romania from April 6 to 13 with 16 attending teams. The participants fought for a share of the $625k prize pool and VRS points. The latter didn't affect BLAST.tv Austin Major invites as they were issued while the event was in progress.
