Team Spirit seeks permanent doctor, cites health issues as they withdraw from IEM Melbourne

Team Spirit revealed the reason for their withdrawal from IEM Melbourne 2025. The CS2 roster had unspecified health issues. They shared this in a comment to HLTV.

We had every intention to play in Melbourne, but health issues unfortunately came in the way and made us decline. This is very unfortunate, but health always comes first.

Around the same time, Spirit posted an advert for hiring a doctor on a job-related website. This was revealed by Cyberslovo on Telegram. They want to acquire a specialist on a permanent basis.

According to ESL, Spirit withdrew on April 4, three weeks before the start of the tournament in Melbourne, which suggests someone on the team may experience constant or recurring health issues. It is also possible they decided to play it safe, as they have two more tournaments right after the event.

Team Spirit players complained about some sickness in March at ESL Pro League Season 21. Chopper and magixx were ill and had to go to the local hospital. Hally also missed one event due to illness. Other than that, there haven't been any issues or complaints about health.
