Denis "electronic" Sharipov spoke about Virtus.pro's recent progress. He thinks the team is getting to a point where they reliably reach the playoffs. In an interview at PGL Bucharest 2025, he spoke about their goals and his personal progress as an IGL.
I won't say I'm 100% happy, but I'm close to it. I can see that a lot of players were growing from this time. For example, we were discussing a lot of things, so yeah, I can see the progress of young players.
I think we are really close to being a playoff team. We're always close, and we need something. I know what we need to fix, but I won't reveal it in public. We're growing as a team, discussing how we're going to play, and we're starting to think the same way. I'm pretty sure we'll see some progress in a few months. <...> For example, we're going to a map and discuss what's the best thing for our team, because every team is special and you need to get your identity.
When I just started to be an IGL, in previous teams, I was young. But now, I took bad experience as well, you know my teams weren't that good. I want to prove to everyone and especially to myself that I can be a really good IGL. I'm just learning, trying my best, putting as much as I can, watching demos, and how other IGLs react to some situations.
Electronic is currently 26, and has tried to become a captain several times. In NAVI, there was a period when he called on Mirage. After the departure of Boombl4, he took over his role, and later also called in Cloud9. The experiments always ended up with electronic giving the reins to someone more experienced.
Virtus.pro has a match record of 2-2 in the group stage of PGL Bucharest. The team is playing an elimination game against Astralis on April 9. The match is scheduled to start at 9:00 CET.
