Valve fixes bug that "could cause" jump height inconsistency in CS2

Valve released a small patch addressing jumping issues in CS2. They fixed a bug that presumably caused jump height inconsistency. However, in the comment section on Reddit, players claim that the problem remains.

CS2 patch September 3, 2024

  • Fixed a case where some commands, including jump, might be ignored under poor network conditions.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause inconsistent jump heights.
  • Fixed a case where client player collision would remain disabled after ragdoll interaction occurred in the previous round. Thanks for the repro steps, @poggu__.
  • Fixed a case for Linux users where the game would hang when opening the pause menu.

Jump height inconsistency has been an issue since day one in CS2. After a while, players found a workaround via "de-subtick" binds that allowed reliable movement. On August 20, Valve banned multi-task scripts, including these scripts, and they no longer work in-game, which brought back the old issue.

Earlier, G2 star Nikola "NiKo" Kovac commented on playing without jumpthrow binds. He seems to be happy with nades' behavior. The rifler even praised manual throws for their consistency compared to CS:GO.
