Heroic had to forfeit a won map to NiP due to Snap Tap usage by TeSeS, only to lose series afterwards

Heroic got into yet another sticky situation in Counter-Strike 2. René "TeSeS" Madsen was caught with active Snap Tap during his ESL Pro League S20 match against Ninjas in Pyjamas. The team was forced to forfeit a map they won, and lost the match in the end.

The issue appeared on the first map of the match. Heroic won it with a score 13-10, but after Snap Tap was found, the result was overturned. They won the second map as well, and would've won the series if not for TeSeS' violation of the rules. NiP managed to take the decider, winning the series in the end.

According to Madsen, he did not notice that the feature was turned on when he got on the PC. He said that he turned it off after Valve's restriction on it. TeSeS posted his explanation and apologies on X.

Snap Tap usage was forbidden by ESL on August 29. The tournament organizer followed Valve's ruling on it. The developers restricted this feature and similar ones on their servers on August 20. Jump throws were also forbidden, together with any binds that were making two actions for one button press.
