Virtus.pro signed Russian coach XomA, who led 9Pandas to Copenhagen Major

Coach Andrey "XomA" Mironenko joined the Virtus.pro CS 2 roster. The organization announced his addition on the official website, confirming previous rumors. VP CEO Nikolai Petrossian explained the change with a "need for a fresh perspective."

Our roster needs a fresh perspective on the game and assistance in updating our playbook to ensure that we meet the current meta and are prepared to outplay any opponents, regardless of external factors. Moreover, the new coach will need to nurture stability within the team dynamics and develop a system of play where our stars can maximize their strengths.

Andrey’s vision of the game is up-to-date. Through his work, he has earned the chance at the tier-1 level, and we are ready to give him the opportunity to prove himself. He is prepared for this challenge.

Nikolai Petrossian, Virtus.pro CEO

Mironenko was a professional CS player from 2004 to 2017, after which he worked as a coach and analyst. His last team was 9Pandas. Under his leadership, they won a few tier-2 events and qualified for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. Unfortunately, the team could not attend the Major due to visa issues.

XomA will join VP later, on June 17. At the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, the team will play with their analyst Pavel "PASHANOJ" Legostaev behind them instead. The event will take place from June 12 to 16 in London.
