Virtus.pro might be looking for a new CS2 coach instead of Dastan "dastan" Akbayev, who has been helping Dzhami "Jame" Ali for almost seven years. According to Russian insider Aleksey "OverDrive" Biryukov, the team has entered negotiations with Andrey "XomA" Mironenko, the coach of 9Pandas.
Virtus.Pro are in negotiations with XomA! The era of the Dastan and Jame pairing is coming to an end.
Jame and dastan are all that's left from the AVANGAR squad formed in 2017. Together, they brought the team to the top-tier CS, got to the grand final of Berlin Major 2019, and won other tournaments. After joining Virtus.pro, they claimed the trophy of IEM Rio Major 2022 as Outsiders.
XomA is a CS 1.6 veteran who turned to coaching in 2017. He was the analyst of Gambit Youngsters during their rise to the top in 2020. He also coached or worked as an assistant with teams like Winstrike, EPG, and 9Pandas. The latter qualified for PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 but couldn't attend the event due to visa issues.
