Falcons, Heroic lose to noname teams and exit Esports World Cup 2024 qualifier

Heroic and Falcons will not participate in Esports World Cup 2024. The teams dropped out from the open qualifier, after failing to beat unknown teams in round 16.

Heroic lost 11:13 to a Polish mix, named Brazylijski Luz in the round of 32. Falcons were beaten by the Russian-Kazakhstani team RUBY. Both matches were played in a bo1 format and ended with a 11:13 score. 9Pandas, who qualified for the last Major but missed it due to visa issues, were beaten by Danish squad Sashi Esport, coached by HUNDEN.

This exit continues an unfortunate streak for Saudi-sponsored Falcons. Since the creation of the wannabe star-packed squad, they were unable to get through any qualifier, including Copenhagen Major and BLAST Spring Showdown, which they played with s1mple as a stand-in. They will, however, participate in the upcoming EPL S19, thanks to their standing in ESL rankings.

Esports World Cup 2024 open qualifier runs from April 17 to 18. Numerous teams compete for two spots at the CQ, where they'll play against Cloud9 and Eternal Fire for the right to participate in the main event.
