Several professional CS2 players criticized PGL for providing sub-optimal PCs at the RMR for Copenhagen Major 2024. Ropz, w0nderful, karrigan, and others reported on various issues. 9Pandas' captain Denis "seized" Kostin in an interview to HLTV said he had to lower the in-game settings to get a desired performance.
But we have really bad PCs on this LAN, some players needed to change settings, resolution, and monitors, as I did, and I think I'm not alone. For me, it's really bad that we are playing a qualifier for the first CS2 Major on bad PCs.
PCs are total shit, by the way. FPS just drops down to 200.
Have to play with 240hz because of FPS.
Accrding to the comment from PGL to HLTV, they use AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, Nvidia RTX 4080 16G, and 360Hz monitors. Ropin "Ropz" Kohl claimed the processors are outdated, although later, he deleted his comment.
After the first day of the RMR, Valve also released an update to CS2. The developers didn't mention this in the patch notes, but they reportedly addressed some performance issues. Dataminer Thour got a 24% FPS boost on an empty server after running a benchmark.
PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 European RMR is running from February 14 to 24 in Bucharest, Romania. 32 teams fight for 18 Major spots. The first qualified teams will be decided today in matches between FaZe, NAVI, G2, and VP.
