CS2 devs reportedly fixed Call To Arms performance and FPS issues in undisclosed update

Valve launched an update to CS2 on February 15, which might've fixed performance issues that appeared after the Call To Arms patch. The changes weren't mentioned on the game's official page but were reported on social media by CS enthusiasts.

Dataminer Thour ran a benchmark test and got a 24% FPS increase compared to previous observations. Note that his results might not be valid for other systems.

This optimization patch was released a day after several professional players, including ropz, seized, and w0nderful, complained about poor performance at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 RMR. They blamed the TO for providing outdated PCs.

Call To Arms came out on February 7. Valve added the first CS2 case, Kilowatt, a new Kukri knife, and Zeus finishes. The new smoke shadows with slightly changed mechanics were introduced, which could affect the performance.
