G2 Esports player Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov commented on the recent rumors of the Source 2 release for CS:GO. Young sniper is sure that it won't happen before the Major in Paris.
They are preparing something for sure. But it's not going to be released tomorrow, you know. And I don't think it's going to be released before the Major either. I think releasing Source 2 before the Major is not right. So, I think it will be after the event. They might even announce it at the event, like they did with Dota 2 in the past. Like at The International, maybe it will be announced on the final day or during the Grand Final. I think that would be more interesting than releasing it tomorrow.
BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 is going to be held in May, from 8 to 21. The RMRs for the event are planned on April 5-14, where the teams will get a chance to qualify for the event. On the Major 24 teams will fight for a $1,25 mln prize pool and an invite to IEM Cologne 2023 and BLAST Premier World Final 2023.
G2 Esports are currently participating in ESL Pro League Season 17. The team already qualified for playoffs from first place of their group, beating Eternal Fire, MIBR and Fnatic.
