FaZe Clan's Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken commented on the rumored CS:GO Source 2 or Counter-Strike 2 update. He thinks that there will be no drastic changes to the core gameplay, but the new engine will help with technical issues.
I think people are overreacting really bad right now with Source 2. I think Source 2 will be the main update to help them mesh the maps better together. Fix texture problems or any issues. On Overpass, for example, if you’re walking along the left wall on Long, you'll get stuck. I think issues like that are the ones that will get fixed. Maybe some grenade bugs or maps. Honestly, if you look at a map like Tuscan, it feels like the limit of what Source 1 can accomplish.
During his speech, the IGL of FaZe Clan, Finn "karrigan" Anderson, was acting as if he desperately wanted to add something or was really nervous. When Mauisnake implied that Finn "might be under a Non-Disclose Agreement," Twistzz answered for his teammate.
We had three days off in our one month of practice. Someone may or may not have went to Seattle [looks intently at karrigan]. But yeah, I can't confirm.
Recently Richard Lewis reported on Counter-Strike 2 beta coming in March. He mentioned several features that don't drastically change the game. The graphical improvements will be there, along with other enhancements. He also revealed that some professional players secretly flew to Seattle to test the new game at Valve's headquarters.
