Today is the 1000th day since G2's last trophy win. The team is 0:11 in maps in LAN grand finals since then

Edit: our initial headline wasn't clear enough, we are sorry for the confusion.

G2 Esports have reached a mark of 1,000 days without taking a tournament trophy in CS:GO. The last time they won, was the Champions Cup Finals LAN by Eden Esports and StarLadder in December 2019.

Nemanja "HuNter-" Kovac is the only player on the roster who can recall this victory since all others departed. All that time, G2 was among the top contenders and participated in four LAN and two online grand finals. And there's only one match when they managed to close at least a map in their favor. But at least their match against FaZe at IEM Katowice 2022 was called "one of the closest 3:0 finals" by many, with teams needing to have six overtimes across the series to determine the winner.

G2 grand finals since their last victory

Astralis is in a similar situation. The Danes cannot win a LAN tournament for 1010 days. Last time they were victorious at BLAST Pro Series Global Final 2019. At least Astralis had numerous wins in the online era.

G2 is currently in its best shape since the Katowice loss. The team quickly adapted to the new style with Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and finished the ESL Pro League S16 group with a flawless map record of 10:0. They will play in the quarterfinal on September 29 or 30.
